Freudenberg Medical established its first production facility in Costa Rica in 2012. Since then, we have delivered cutting-edge solutions from Costa Rica to medical device OEMs around the world. Our customers value our efficient services and capabilities along the entire device lifecycle including cost-effective manufacturing and assembly on a large scale.
With our second facility, operational in March 2025, we are expanding our technologies to deliver increasingly complex products to our global customer base. It will be dedicated to the assembly of high-volume minimally invasive catheters for electrophysiology, vascular and structural heart therapies and other medical devices that require high-precision manual assembly.
Costa Rica boasts a robust infrastructure and a highly skilled workforce, making it an ideal hub for medical device manufacturers seeking reliable nearshoring services. Our manufacturing facilities are strategically located in the Coyol Free Trade Zone in Alajuela, just a 10-minute drive from the San José international airport.
