Freudenberg Medical Carpinteria Operations Expands Tooling Capabilities
Carpinteria, Calif. – May 8, 2017 – Freudenberg Medical, a global developer and manufacturer of medical devices, components, and minimally invasive solutions for the medical device industry, announces the expansion of in-house tooling capabilities at their silicone products manufacturing operation in Carpinteria, California.
The global silicone lead center in Carpinteria has expanded in-house tooling capabilities through investment in infrastructure and experienced tooling resources. Modification of the Tool Room enables mold servicing and maintenance in addition to design, partial fabrication, machining, and assembly. One recent hire is a tooling manager, with 30+ years of experience, who has extensive knowledge in tool design and manages all aspects of tooling, machining, and outsourcing.
In the newly created space Freudenberg Medical can now design, manufacture, and assemble prototype molds as well as low- to medium cavitation molds. “In order to increase our response time, we put a flexible business model in place so that some components can be fabricated in-house or outsourced but assembled on site,” said Allen Stadtmiller, Director of Engineering. “This allows us to actively manage internal and external capabilities and optimize the tool build lead time.”
Freudenberg Medical’s Carpinteria Operation manufactures low- to high volume medical silicone components and tubing; offering a wide array of assembly capabilities. Carpinteria is FDA-registered and works exclusively in medical, pharmaceutical, and implantable-grade silicones. For more information on Freudenberg Medical visit www.FreudenbergMedical.com
