What sets Freudenberg Medical apart is its deep expertise in materials and technologies combined with deep clinical acumen and our winning project is a perfect example of this. The award recognizes the groundbreaking work of our Hemoteq AG team in Aachen, Germany. Hemoteq developed and commercialized a drug-coated balloon (DCB) catheter in close collaboration with one of the world’s leading medical device companies.
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally, responsible for nearly 30% of all fatalities. This proprietary DCB coating addresses that critical need by treating restricted blood vessels. Our team developed both the proprietary drug coating formulation and a fully digital and traceable, high-precision coating process to help improve the lives of millions of patients.
