Freudenberg Medical's engineering team partnered closely with Averto Medical to bring ColoSeal™ to life.
Leveraging our deep materials knowledge, rapid tooling development, and high-precision extrusion capabilities, we designed and prototyped multi-lumen tubing with ultra-thin walls and tight tolerances.
Supported by Freudenberg Technology Innovation’s digital modeling and digital twin technologies, we supported multiple design iterations, tooling refinements, and production trials in just a few short months.

The Result
Improving Patient Outcomes
By March 2025, the first prototypes of ColoSeal™ were successfully manufactured and tested, with further validation activities underway. Averto Medical’s bold vision has now achieved FDA Breakthrough Device Designation. This milestone was made possible through dedicated teamwork, responsive engineering, and our shared commitment to improving patient outcomes.
The device is on track to dramatically reduce recovery time, minimize complications, and restore dignity to thousands of patients facing colorectal surgery.
