Device Manufacturing

Freudenberg Medical specializes in end-to-end device manufacturing across four integrated global sites: Carrick-on-Shannon in Ireland, Jeffersonville in Indiana and Minnetonka in Minnesota–both in the US, and Coyol in Costa Rica. Each location brings distinct strengths to deliver high-performance catheter-based and minimally invasive devices.
Together, these sites offer deep expertise in complex catheter and balloon development, handle design, thermoplastic extrusion and molding, rapid prototyping, and full-scale device assembly, packaging, and validation. Extrusion

Freudenberg Medical offers industry-leading custom extrusion capabilities across five strategically located global sites, providing advanced tubing solutions for minimally invasive medical devices as well as pharmaceutical and biopharma applications.
- Carrick-on-Shannon, Ireland, specializes in tight-tolerance thermoplastic extrusion for catheter systems, including braided, coiled, and balloon catheters.
- Coyol, Costa Rica, adds high-volume thermoplastic extrusion to support large-scale catheter assembly.
- Beverly in Massachusetts, Carpinteria in California, and Kaiserslautern in Germany, deliver high-performance silicone extrusion which includes single- and multi-lumen, co-extrusion, and braiding, using medical- and implant-grade materials sourced from all major silicone suppliers.

Molding

Freudenberg Medical’s experienced molding experts specialize in precision thermoplastic and silicone molding for medical and pharmaceutical applications across six global sites.
Our capabilities include liquid injection molding (LIM), two-shot molding, micro-molding, insert and over-molding, and compression molding. Leveraging advanced automation and scientific molding techniques such as T.I.M.E.™, we support the full product lifecycle, from rapid prototyping to high-volume production. We process implantable-grade silicones, LSR, HCR, PEEK, and other medical-grade materials, delivering molded components for drug delivery, minimally invasive devices, diagnostics, and orthopedics with proven quality and reliability.
Facilities in the U.S., Costa Rica, Germany, and China provide engineering support, robotic cavity separation, in-line inspection and full device assembly.

Metals

Freudenberg Medical specializes in advanced metal components for minimally invasive medical devices, with deep expertise in hypotube manufacturing, steerable catheter shafts, and specialty needles.
Our capabilities include laser cutting, welding, overmolding, micro-tubing, precision grinding, and proprietary coating technologies.

Coatings

Freudenberg Medical, through its Hemoteq facility in Aachen, Germany, is a leader in advanced coating solutions for drug-device combination products and drug-coated balloon catheters. Core competencies include drug-device combination products for controlled drug delivery to constricted vessels, hydrophilic coatings, and customized surface modifications.
In addition to Aachen, our facilities in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Minnetonka, Minnesota, as well as Carrick-on-Shannon, Ireland, also provide hydrophilic coating solutions, ensuring global support and consistency for our customers across regions.
